good idea :It imagines that the biodegradable composites will be capable of holding bioengineered seeds inside (a technology it says has been demonstrated previously), that won't germinate until they have been in the ground for several months. Then plants will sprout from the discharged ammunition that actively remove soil contaminants and consume the other biodegradable components. “Five R’s” (instead of the usual three) in order : Refuse what they don’t need, reduce what they do need, reuse by avoiding disposables and buying secondhand, recycle what they can’t refuse, and rot (compost) what’s left.
It is useful to see real green work based on provable facts . Diversions of the waste stream make economic and natural sense and should continue to be nurtured.

Earlier this year, the US' National Renewable Energy Lab announced that a new record had been set for solar cells that were able to convert sunlight to electricity at the rate of 29.8 percent using a silicon-based cell. If the Cambridge research can be translated into a working solar cell, there's a good chance that record won't stand for long. Plus, with a recent advance that makes perovskite cells cheaper and more durable, silicon's days in the sun might soon be drawing to a close.

Forward Thinking Architecture's triple-decker Smart Floating Farms would feature 2.2 million square feet (2.04 sq km) of fish farm, hydroponic garden, and rooftop solar panels to power a floating barge, which could be anchored to the beds of oceans, lakes or rivers. The company estimates that each of its floating farms could produce about 8 tons (7.3 tonnes) of vegetables and 1.7 tons (1.5 tonnes) of fish per year.

2. Efficiency of new solar technology has increased from an average capacity factor of 24.5 percent in projects completed in 2011 to 29.4 percent in projects completed in 2014.
3. The new low average price of 5 cents per kWh has made solar power a competitive option in states outside of the Southwest, where solar power is most widely used. Notably, Southeastern states Arkansas and Alabama are seeing more solar development than ever before.
